Over the 8 years of serving St. John Ambulance Brigade, Raymond Tay had completed various leadership courses (Junior NCO, Senior NCO and Officer Training Courses) and then organized & served in many key positions like Camp Commandant, Training Officer and Inter-Corps Games’ Day Organizer for 10 schools. Due to his outstanding performance, Eagle Award, Colours Award and Friend of the School were presented to him. In addition, he was a Vice-President (Membership) in Tiarel Toastmasters Club, and helped to organize various events like Language Evaluation Workshop, Speechcraft Workshop and Speech Contests. With the passion in enterprising, he interviewed entrepreneurs and is a committee member of the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE) Student Alumni to organise events like “Celebpreneur” Uncovered. Raymond has completed a 12-hr Mental Health First Aid course under Changi General Hospital to provide help to a person developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Furthermore, he has attended the “7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students” workshop in NUS.
During his education in Temasek Polytechnic, Raymond was placed in the Director’s List every year and graduated with a Diploma with Merit and Gold Medal (Top Student). He also has a certificate in Safety & Crisis Planning & Management. In NUS, he was involved in Project SELF as a mentor to Secondary School students in BEYOND Social Services for Financial Literacy. Till date, he has trained and helped over more than 2,500 individuals in primary & secondary schools and organizations.
